Meet Brett and Lindsay- Wedding Photographers in London, Ontario
Tandem Inaugural Blog Post - Meet Lindsay & Brett!
Hello Reader,
And welcome to our inaugural blog post! I suppose you found
yourself here because you’re planning a wedding (or you’re one of our moms). Well,
you’ve come to the right place (hi, mom)! Our goal for this blog is to be the number
one resource for planning a London, Ontario wedding. Before we get too ahead of
ourselves, some introductions are in order.
I’m Lindsay and my husband/co-photographer/travel buddy is
Brett. We created Tandem Photo Co back in 2014 when were newly married and living
in Mexico City. It was a word-of-mouth type business and we primarily shot for
friends-of-friends. We have enjoyed an amazing time shooting weddings
throughout Mexico and Canada, with front-row seats to some of our now favourite
peoples’ big days. However, we spent most of our time on our “day jobs”.
Brett is a photojournalist, he’s passionate about truth and story-telling.
His long-term work often
sees him embedded with marginalized groups, striving to see, understand, and
represent them with accuracy and dignity. The depiction of emotion is a key
element in his work. You may have seen his photography in the New York Times,
Washington Post, Le Monde, or TIME Magazine.
I, on the other hand, am an editorial photographer focusing on travel, food, interiors
and portraiture. Or, all that is happy, attractive or well-designed! Finding the
“good” light and the beauty in any situation is my strength. You might have
come across my work in Monocle,
Hemispheres, Bon Appétit, Dwell, Travel & Leisure, or En Route.
Here’s a simple way to explain the
difference between our photography genres: Both Brett and I have had assignments
where we took a boat to our accommodations. Brett’s boat took him (and his belongings stored in waterproof bags) to a river-side camp with limited electricity in the Amazon
Rainforest. My motorboat took me to a 5-star suite with a private plunge pool
and butler service (my bags awaited me inside).
Just over a year ago we took a big trip together to our new
home and life in London, Ontario. Here we have something that is, in our opinion,
way better than the Amazon and private plunge pools: our 1-year-old twins (and
our dog, and cat, and extended family, blah blah… hi again mom). While we’re both
still travelling for work, we’re also putting down more roots here because,
gosh, these babies are miss-able!
We’re now opening up our wedding photography business to beyond
friends of friends. And when we do something, we like to do it to the best of our ability. That’s why we’re
starting this blog. We understand who our ideal clients are, their priorities, and preferences.
We want to create a resource that will be your go-to when planning your ideal
London, Ontario wedding. Also, let’s be honest, I love weddings! I might be
done planning mine, but that doesn’t mean I can’t help you research yours! Did you
know my first job out of University was as an editorial intern at Weddingbells
magazine? Looking forward to planning with you!
XO, Lindsay
